The Siemens’s existing portfolio PAC Meters (PAC 3100, PAC 3200) supports all the basic features and some advanced features like Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), Voltage imbalances... to fulfill the energy monitoring specifications.
However, according to market trends, customers have become more concerned about power quality than ever before. Therefore, the tender specifications are also requiring more advanced features which the PAC 3100 & PAC 3200 series cannot fulfill.
In order to meet such requirements, Siemens upgraded its PAC measuring devices portfolio in October 2019 with PAC3120 and PAC3220, replaced to PAC3100 and PAC3200.

PAC 3120 new key features:
- Accuracy class 0.5 (Accuracy class as per IEC61557-12: Class 0.5 Active Energy)
- Metering Voltage upto L-L= 690V
- Harmonic distortion (Total Harmonic Distortion-THD)
- CT Secondary current (1A or 5A)
- Aggregation Levels: (from 10 seconds to 15 minutes Averages)
- 6 limit Values for threshold monitoring
- Integrated Modbus RS-485 port.
PAC 3220 new key features:
- Aggregation Levels: (from 10 seconds to 15 minutes Averages)
- Harmonic distortion (Total Harmonic Distortion-THD with 51 harmonics)
- Color screen display
- Integrated internet ports (2no.)
- Integrated Web Server
- 2 Modules DI/DO, I(N), I(diff), I(analog)
Note: Ethernet Profinet Expansion Module> = 3.0. The older versions will not work with PAC3220
